"One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don't throw it away." - Stephen Hawking.
One - Yea, I always hope. Two - Will never give up my work, my passion. Three - No luck yet haha. Hope so (1)!
Flood of endless worries..i seriously envy those ppl tat nv worry..can totally shake off all responsibility..haha. But its my nature to worry..wat to do zz.
i strongly encourage, recommend to watch the tribute to Dr Goh Keng Swee if you had not already done so...its inspirational. Many good values we can pick from Dr Goh.. =)
Proud of this nation ya..from nothing to something.
The nation with innovative, diligent and positive ppl will not only survive but also thrive..something little red dot must always bear in mind, and work towards to =)
living a meaningful life means to me, using my potential to the fullest to help others..actually, i kinda enjoy teaching haha. But to be honest, i hope to teach only poly or uni students =x I'm kinda not those who hesitate to buy gifts for the kids to get them to sit down and listen haha. Since the idea of being a nerd, geek, professor is completely all rite to me (lol), i hope one day i'll get the chance to teach subjects tat i enjoy.
In short, i like how Einstein puts it "Only a life lived in the service for others is worth living".
I study investments not just for investment sake..the thinking process behind it, the logical reasoning, exposure to new ideas, new angle of seeing things, the insights, intrigues me - not to say, the possible rewards behind it lol. For someone who have a liking for art and science, its only natural to get attracted to investment because the subject itself is a combination of art and science..
Thus, i think it will be really constructive to spend some time if provided possible (not an excuse for those having exams to procrastinate!), to think about..about what matters to you, what is important to you, what you truly enjoy doing, are you where you suppose to be? Of course, such thoughts would have cross one's mind every now and then but in my view, it's always good to review it because having clarity brings in higher certainty..to help make correct decisions and to act upon it..something of a dictum, "the opposite is also true".
A fren of mine decided to pause her reality-fast-pacing world just to think about this and i completely support her of doing so..but i hope not too long because time do really matters..lol. Wish u all the best in ur endeavors or daring quest. Definite obstacles lie ahead, but take comfort that u'll always have someone here for u =)
happen to came across this painting..its titled "The Persistence of Memory" by a Spanish painter name, Salvador Dali..though i'm not someone who really knows how to appreciate art.. i thought this may couple well with the music Air on G string by Bach..adjust ur volume to better hear this popular masterpiece of Bach..!
jus came to know bout some sad things tat happened to one of my fren from pri sch and sec 1..
it is said an Eastern monarch once charge his wise men to invent a sentence that will hold true through all times..they presented him with this "And this, too, shall pass away".
i guess those are the best comforting words for her now..God bless her!
